Sponsored by Culver’s, please join Plein Air Shorewood 2014 for a kids of all ages event at Atwater Park Bluff. This kick-off is happening the week before the start of 65 professional artists hitting the ground of Shorewood Sept 17-20.

Visiting artists that are outside painting (keep track of them on our mapping feature online at pleinairshorewood.com) Wednesday 9/17 - going to Hubbard Lodge for the Artist and Community Dinner from 6-9 ($10 meal includes drink) Thursday 9/18 - checking out the chalk from 2-6 along Oakland Thursday 9/18- going to see all 60+ artists at the Quick Paint along Oakland and Capitol from 4-8pm Friday 9/19- heading to the Block Party at 4500 N Oakland (School of Rock House Band 5:30, Instagram Winner announced 6:30..) Saturday 9/20- 8am-12pm - Lakefront Quick Paint - watching artists do what we did a week before! Saturday 9/20- 12pm-1pm Family Preview and Sale time at the Library - checking out the finished work with my family

Bring your own art supplies. We recommend:

1. Umbrella, if it looks like rain.
2. Someone to hold the umbrella.
3. A firm board and paper, canvas, inside of a cereal box, or other blank material for drawing or painting.
4. Your favorite coloring implements – markers, crayons, watercolors, or something fancier. Painting? Bring three brushes along.
5. Bottle of water
6. Small cup for brush water
7. One pencil. Sharpened. Any kind. with an eraser.

Artists are coming to and painting outdoors in Shorewood, September 17-20 for Plein Air Shorewood 2014! 65 Professional Artists compete for over $7,000 in prizes. All their work (250 pieces) will be for sale at a Gala on Saturday, September 20, from 6-9:30p.m. Events are all free and open to the public. All sales will happen on Saturday, September 20 – paintings of the schools, buildings, and fresh perspectives of Shorewood. More information at www.pleinairshorewood.com

Monday through Friday (exact times tbd), Sept 8-12: Curriculum integration of Plein air and professional Artist Demonstrations at all 5 schools in the Village: Atwater Elementary, Lake Bluff Elementary, Shorewood Intermediate School, Shorewood High School, and St. Roberts School. Sponsored by Pam Miller and Alma Pura Yoga for Kids.

All Ages Competition:

Instagram #pleinairshorewood Competition – all ages. Upload photos of art and artists using the #pleinaishorewood hashtag. Starts Wednesday, September 17 at 7a.m. and deadline for all submissions is Friday, September 19, at 5 p.m. 6:30p.m. Friday at the Block Party 9/19/14 winner is announced. Thursday evening Chalk Art and Shop Walk sponsored by the Shorewood Business Improvement District – Fun for kids to see live chalk artists at 14 businesses 2-6pm, award for best chalk 7pm. Special offers at many businesses 4-8p.m. All artists in plein air will be painting from 4-8pm in business district in the Quick Paint Business District.
Kids Rock – School of Rock Shorewood Performance:
5:30-6:30 at the Block Party Stage, 4500 N. Oakland.

Kids Yoga during the Artist Quick Paint at the Lake:

Saturday Sept. 20 during the Artists Quick Paint (8am to 12noon), kids yoga sponsored by Pam Miller Alma Pura Yoga from 8:30-9:30AM at the Atwater Bluff (free of charge).
