Plein air means painting outside the studio. Shorewood, Wisconsin welcomes its second annual Plein Air Event by inviting professional artists to come and experience all Shorewood has to offer — Lake Michigan and Atwater Beach, the Milwaukee River and parks, a business district, historic homes, and create artwork of the environs. Wisconsin is the largest state in the U.S. for Plein Air events. Shorewood boasts the third largest plein air event in the state based on artist sales and participation numbers of attendees and artists.
